(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 4/15/19) – Later today, the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) will join a coalition of community organizations at a rally outside a Burnsville, Minn., business that President Trump is expected to visit.

The #WeStandWithIlhan rally is planned outside the Nuss Truck and Equipment in Burnsville beginning at 11:30 a.m. and was organized to support Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, who has seen a sharp increase in direct death threats to her life after President Donald Trump targeted her with a tweet taking her remarks at a CAIR banquet in California out of context and adding false video links to the 9/11 terror attacks.

Ilhan Omar’s Deeply American Message to CAIR
#WeStandWithIlhan rally will focus on supporting Rep. Omar and sharing common Minnesota values, with the theme “Stand in Unity for: Love, Respect, Equality, Justice and Democracy.”
On Saturday, CAIR called on Democratic and Republican leadership to use their platforms to publicly and vocally stand in support of Rep. Omar, one of the first American Muslim women elected to U.S. Congress.
